Women in an association in a small village in Brazil spend their days making beautiful handmade, eco-friendly jewelry and flowers from fish scales. Working from their homes allows them to both earn a living while also looking after their families. The association teaches them how to assemble the cleaned and disinfected fish scales, turning them into astonishing works of art. Each scale is glued one-by-one by hand, a task that is both delicate and detailed. There are about 50 fish scales in one rose.
